Mc Explorer Islay XO is a bold and character-driven Mauritius rum, crafted from distillates of two different island distilleries. Produced from both pure sugar cane juice and molasses, this XO expression combines tropical richness with smoky Islay intensity.

After ageing between 8 and 14 years, the rum was carefully married and double matured in Bourbon casks and former Laphroaig Distillery casks. The result is a powerful yet balanced profile where Mauritian warmth meets peated whisky influence.

Bottled at 49.5% ABV, this is a structured and expressive rum, offering depth, smokiness, and refined sweetness in equal measure.

Colour: Deep golden amber.

Nose: Immediately expressive and savoury. Grilled spare ribs, honey, and walnuts lead the way, followed by bright lemon zest and soft vanilla. A subtle peat smoke weaves through the aromas, adding tension and complexity.
