The Roots T.D.L. 2009 15Y Ex-bourbon Cask Joint-Botteling with The Antelope 61.3% 70cl
This exceptional rum is a collaboration between The Roots and The Antelope, featuring a rare single cask from Trinidad Distillers Limited (T.D.L.), distilled in 2009 and aged for a remarkable 15 years.
What makes this release truly special is the ageing profile: 10 years of tropical maturation in Trinidad, followed by 5 years of continental ageing in Europe, all in a single ex-bourbon cask. This dual ageing process adds depth, structure, and complexity to an already elegant distillate.
Tasting Notes:
-
Nose: Refined and complex – dried fruits, vanilla, toasted oak, subtle tobacco, and hints of baking spices.
-
Palate: Full-bodied and layered. Notes of caramelized banana, coconut, leather, spiced oak, and a warm, peppery kick. The high ABV (61.3%) is powerful yet well-integrated.
-
Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering notes of oak, spice, and dried tropical fruit.
