At Hacienda Coloma, two Maestras Roneras once made an unexpected error by transferring rum into an old barrel that had previously contained coffee liqueur. What initially seemed like a mistake revealed an extraordinary aromatic transformation. This happy accident gave birth to a distinctive finishing method that has since become emblematic of the Coloma house. The “beautiful mistake” now stands as a tribute to daring creativity and know-how passed on with passion.

This 13-year-old single cask rum, vintage 2012, comes from a careful selection of the very first barrels produced using this unique method. Distilled from fresh sugar cane juice (agricole method) and tropically aged in Colombia, it displays impressive depth, balance and complexity.

About Coloma
The story of Coloma rum is closely linked to the Constain family. Although the brand is relatively young, its roots date back to 1959, when Alberto Constain Medina acquired a late 19th-century family estate in Fusagasugá, Colombia. His son, Alberto Constain Cenzano, later transformed this heritage into what is now Coloma, a house that masterfully blends tradition with innovation.
